On the Schiedamse vest in Rotterdam the assignment was to make a new design for an Primary School ‘T Landje.
The concept of the design exists of three parts: First I suggest to create a compact building block, in this way the open park space , which is a valuable asset in Rotterdam is maintained as much as possible. The compact building block forms a continuation of the urban block of the Eye Hospital next door. In this way the urban form is continued through the Schiedamse vest. Finally, to open up the building I created a urban route throughout, which can act as a pathway, but also connected the different multifunctional spaces together. Furthermore this route is flexible and contains a library, exhibition area inviting children and parents to engage interaction with eachother.
